Day #3 Sugar Detox Challenge March 3, 2015

Medicine isn't Healthcare
Food is Healthcare

Good morning on Day#3!

Tamra, Jane and I started our day with what I call Mexican Asian Fusion scrambled eggs. The veggies included red bell pepper, asparagus, cauliflower, and carrots. The flavorings included freshly grated ginger, lime juice, salt and pepper, salsa. Avocado slices for the garnish.

Comments as we start our day:

Thanks to you all for inspiring me and keeping me strong. ~Mom

We all have our temptations, especially at work, as exemplified by recent comments/pictures by Joe and Liney in the Sugar Detox group in iMessage this morning. Liney mentioned donuts.
I've added peanutbutter filled pretzels.

Some thoughts for the day:

1. Discover the wide variety of vegetables and fruits and grains with all their colors, textures, and flavors. TRY SOME THAT ARE NEW TO YOU.

2. Have sugar-free herbs, spices, salsas and other yummy natural additives like lime/lemons, vinegars on hand to add flavor to what you eat.

3. Do as much preparation ahead of when you're going to need to eat as you can.
Shop, chop, make enough for leftovers for lunch the next day, have your Life Emergency Snack Packs ready and on hand when you're tempted to eat junk or sugary foods.
Note: I just got a Snapchat from Liney showing her nuts and tangerine snack. Way to go!

4. STAY HYDRATED! Water is the best source of hydration. Have a water bottle with you at work, in the car, and while exercising or just handy wherever you may be.
